Katie Himes
Miss Teen America 2010

Sixteen at the time of the National Pageant Katie Himes turned 17 just two days after being crowned Miss Teen America. Katie brought the national title back to her home state of Kentucky twelve years after the ver first winner, Christella Carpenter Hudson claimed the prestigous crown for the Blue Grass State.

A high school senior at Harrison County High School. Katie is active in H.E.A.T.; F.C.C.L.A.; Beta Club; Speech Club; Pep Club; Teen Court; Spanish Club; Biology Club; Friends of Rachel. 

 Among her many honors and awards Katie has received her High School Math Award, AP English Award, Math Award, World Civics Award.  She was the National Spokesperson for a Lymphedema organization and has been chosen to sing the national anthem at school basketball games, soccer games, and for the Lexington Legends Baseball team. She also has received the 2007 Miss Kentucky Teen America Talent Award, 2009 Miss Kentucky Teen America Winner and Modeling Award and in 2010 she secured the

Talent, Swimsuit, Modeling, and Junior Class Academic Awards on her way to capturing the national title in December of 2009.

 Katie has been active in her Community by volunteering at the Clothing Closet, Food Pantry, Go Red for the American Heart Association, Relay for Life, and Lyphedema Research and Awareness Foundation. 

 Katie’s Issue of Concern is: Katie's Closet™, a program designed to help teens in need acquire fashionable clothing.

 Katie resides at home in Cynthiana, Kentucky with her parents Bob and Cathy Himes.
