1. Each Teen Entrant must be at least 14 years of age by August 1st of the competition year and no older than 18 years of age on January 1st of 2009 and she may not have attended college prior to the national pageant. Each Jr. Teen entrant must be at least 11 year of age and no older than 13 on January 1st of the year in which they compete.
2.
Entrants must be born female, single, never
married, nor given birth to a child.
3.
Entrants must be of good health and moral
character.
4.
All decisions as to the eligibility shall be
determined by The Continental Miss Teen America
Scholarship Program, Inc.
5.
All decisions of the judges are final and
irrevocable.
6.
Any contestant and/or family member or guest
showing unsportsmanlike behavior will lead to
the disqualification of the contestant. No
refunds will be given.
7. If
for any reason a winner is disqualified, or
elects not to participate, her title and all
awards including crown and banner, trophy and
prizes will be returned to the National Office
and given to the next choice of the judges. I
understand that the contestant whose title is
relinquished or who is disqualified shall be
responsible for any and all court costs, and
attorney's fees incurred by The Continental Miss
Teen America Scholarship Program in an effort to
have the aforementioned property returned to the
state or national pageant.
8.
Entrants hereby agree to release unconditionally
and forever, any claim against The Continental
Miss Teen America Scholarship Program, Inc., its
officers, directors, employees, agents,
subsidiaries, which they may have, by virtue of
their participation in this pageant or any use
of their name, likeness, voice and/or biography
in connection with this pageant, including use
in promotional and advertising material.
9.
The Continental Miss Teen America Scholarship
Program, Inc. reserves the right to change the
date and location of the National pageant.
10.
Employees of the Continental Miss Teen America
Scholarship Program, Inc. and members of their
immediate families are not eligible to
participate in the competition.
11. Entrants agree that if they enter a state preliminary and succeed to a state level title, or to the title of Miss Teen America 2009 or Miss Jr. Teen America 2009 they will not participate in any pageants during the time that they hold either of those titles.
12.
Contestants and their parents/guardians agree to
hold harmless all persons affiliated with the
Continental Miss Teen America Scholarship
Program, Inc., in case of any loss or injury
occurring during, or in travel to and/or from
this program.
13. Recipient of the title Miss Teen America 2009 promises to promote the program by making a minimum of 18 personal appearances; and the recipient of the title of Miss Jr. Teen America 2009 promises to promote the program by making a minimum of 12 personal appearances during her reign. Titleholders further promise to make no personal appearances or appear in any advertising and/or publications without permission from the National Director.Â
14. Miss Teen America 2009 promises to return to the 2010 Teen America National Pageant as Miss Teen America, in crown and banner, to crown her successor. Miss Jr. Teen America 2009 promises to return to the 2010 Miss Jr. Teen America National pageant as Miss Jr. Teen America, in crown and banner, to crown her successor.
15.
State and local representatives agree that they
accept their titles with the understanding that
they will compete at the next level and assume
all responsibility for payment of fees.
16.
Crowns and banners remain the property of The
Continental Miss Teen America Scholarship
Program until after the national competition.
Any delegate who defaults on her contract must
return all prizes and awards including her crown
and banner to the national office in the
condition in which it was received.
17. I
understand that I may withdraw from the
competition at any time, however, I in doing so,
must return my crown and banner to the national
office. Under no circumstances, and not for any
reason shall I be entitled to a refund in whole
or in part of any fees paid. All fees
paid to Miss Teen America Scholarship, Inc. are
NOT REFUNDABLE and NOT TRANSFERABLE in full or
in part under any circumstances. This includes,
but is not limited to entry fees, advertising
fees, pageant admission ticket sales fees, guest
meal fees and any other fees paid to Miss Teen
America, Inc. by anyone including, but not
limited to, delegates, sponsors, and
advertisers.
18.
I further
understand that there will be a $25 fee assessed
for any returned check.
19. Deadlines
are determined by the number of entries.
20.
Rules and Regulations Governing Cash
Scholarships
If you have
been awarded a cash scholarship at the Miss Teen
America national pageant, it is imperative that you follow
the guide below in claiming your scholarships as
failure to do so will result in loss of
funding.
1. All
scholarship requests must be accompanied by the
tuition bill, which must include the name and
address of the institution, as well as to whom
the check should be made payable.
2. The
scholarship certificate must be presented along
with a copy of the college tuition invoice.
3. You
must include your college student ID number.
4.
Scholarships must be claimed within five years
of award and must be used in consecutive years.
5.
Scholarships are divided into 4 equal
installments. You may only claim one installment
per year.
6. Checks
will be made payable and submitted to the
college or university only.
7.
Scholarship fees may be used for tuition only
and may not be used for any other college
expenses, such as housing and meal plans.
8. All
requests must be submitted no later than August
1st for the academic year in which
the scholarships will be used.
9. Late
submissions will not be honored and will result
in loss of funds for that academic year.
10.
Second through Fourth year scholarship requests
must be accompanied by a current transcript
showing a minimum of a 3.2 cumulative grade
point average.
